THE 2018 EPCOT FOOD AND WINE FESTIVAL MENUS HAVE BEEN RELEASED!
Why are we so excited? (We like food… and wine..the end.) Seriously though, this incredible event is the official kickoff to the Fall season in the Walt Disney World Resort Area. The superb concert series, celebrity chefs and exciting new activities all surrounded by… FOOD and WINE. Don’t miss out! Contact us to plan your trip for dates between August 30th and November 12th!
During the Food and Wine Festival EPCOT is transformed and dotted with additional culinary offerings in booths around the World Showcase Pavilion. You can quite literally “taste your way around the world!” (If you don’t explode first- pack the yoga pants).
Each booth features a variety of small plates, desserts and alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage options. Feel like you might be left out if you are on a special diet? Fear not- there are several dishes that are gluten-free, nut-free, dairy free, vegan/vegetarian and kid-friendly! (My husband and I were on a ketoish kick last Food and Wine Fest and we were pleased to find many items that fit the diet…We also found many that didn’t fit… but… eh, Vacation…. wine… you know… we’re human and there was this really good watermelon ale last year…the orange grove cider was pretty good too….)
Day drinking and eating with kids? They’ve got that covered this year too- the addition of a playground – likely similar to the inviting Montessori style playplaces of the Flower and Garden Festival (pictured Flower and Garden Fest 2018). Also, children can shake off some energy with the new Dance Party Du Jour on Friday and Saturday nights. Rotating characters will join in the party, as well as rising stars of Radio Disney. Remy’s Ratatouille Hide ‘n’ Squeak Scavenger Hunt takes families on an all new culinary adventure. A Junior Chef Kitchen on festival Sunday’s gets kids hands-on and creating their own culinary masterpiece.
The Eat to the Beat Concert series is my (other) favorite part of the festival. You can find performances in the America Gardens Theatre just outside the American Experience Pavillion. This outdoor venue brings artists up close and allows them the ability to connect with fans (and sometimes people who didn’t even know they were fans). I truly enjoy this experience, not just at Food and Wine Festival, but ALL of the EPCOT Festivals that incorporate music arts.
While this event is kid-friendly, it’s also the perfect kid-free adventure weekend. (I will NEVER tell your kids you went to Disney World without them – as long as YOU don’t tell mine when I leave them home to enjoy the Food and Wine Fest as a date night with my husband or a girls night with my local ladies). If you want the best of all world’s, we can also discuss childcare options for an adults night out… (You can also bring grandma along for the ride, as many families opt to do- present company included.).

As a recovering vegetarian that still jumps on the veggie bus a few days a week, I am SUPER excited to see all of the vegan/vegetarian options with Disney adding in plant based proteins… I’m equally happy to see the return of the cheddar cheese soup and the mushroom filet mignon at the Canada kiosk… I mean, if I’m going to go off the veggie rails, I might as well do it well… The organic, crunchy mama in me can’t wait to try the Kombucha flight at Earth Eats…and wash it down with some Hawaiian Passion Fruit Cheesecake…
